What is a Notary Public?
Notary publics are utilized by state governing bodies to prevent fraud and theft within public matters. The main function of a notary public is to witness and authenticate signatures, administer oaths, and verify affidavits

What YOU must have:
You will need to have a VALID photo ID ready to show. This includes a State-issued Driver’s License, State-issued ID, Military ID, or Passport.
What documents can be notarized?
Virtually any document can be notarized. However, exceptions are vital records such as birth, marriage, and death certificates. Notaries can’t make or certify copies of these records. You must go to the government agency that issued the original certificate and request copies. The State of Tennessee does not allow the Copying of Certifications by Notaries.
